編者按：對很多應付考試的人來說,英語寫作實在是無聊的事,因為對詞匯和句子的學習粗略又膚淺.我想對比本文的一些英語表達和前文中的中文, 來表明:體會詞的用法和積累句子才是寫作提高的唯一方法.

　　Banyan, a heroic tree

　　I’d like to compare banyan to the spine of a man, for it is as important a tree as a hero to a country.

　　Somehow my respect for the tree has grown.

　　I tend to attribute my love for the tree to the fact that banyan rewards me with the kind banyan shade all the way between the home and the office.

　　Noble is characteristic of banyan. It has never beenat the mercy of disasters which vary from storms to hurricanes.

　　Banyan offers to mask passengers off dust and noise. Shouldering the growing leaves, banyan is struggling to reach out for sunshine to make itself stronger. Such is the life of banyan in its existence.

　　Its quality empowers me to be firmer and persistent, especially when I am exposed to hardships and sufferings. Sure,I owe solute to beloved banyan.

　　寫作分享：

　　1.前文中“我敢說：小葉榕是南國的脊梁”，英文我用了compare banyan to the spine of a man， 并沒有出現(xiàn)“南國”對應的英語用語，因為“南方”不可能有脊梁啊，人和動物才有。反之，如果是comparebanyan to the spine of the south,會貽笑大方的。

　　2.前文中，如果把“小葉榕是高貴的” 表達成：Banyan is noble，而不是Noble is characteristic of banyan一定索然無味!

　　3.前文表達：我對小葉榕的敬意是實實在在的，但只能仰望而已，所以我用I owe solute to beloved banyan 更能傳遞我的情感和意思。

　　4.對這句Banyan offers to mask passengers off dust and noise 我覺得比較滿意，offer to 在這里比較傳神，因為小葉榕是 “主動”為人服務的。

　　傳神的表達需要經(jīng)久的磨練， 但確實是一件快樂的事啊!
