　　副詞almost, nearly

　　1)almost, nearly將近 是同義詞。比如：

　　It was almost/nearly lunch time when we returned to ourschool.

　　我們回到學校時已差不多午餐時間了。

　　The baby is almost/nearly a year old, but it can’t talk yet.

　　這個嬰兒差不多一歲了，但還不會說話。

　　She almost touched him, almost,so close it made her grin.

　　她差一點就碰到他了，就差那么一點點，她禁不住得意地笑起來。

　　Use of public transportation is the highest it has been in almost 60 years in almost every American city.

　　幾乎每一個美國城市的公共交通使用率都達到近60年來的最高水平。

　　2)含有否定意義的結(jié)構(gòu)中只能用almost，不能用nearly。比如：

　　The boy almost never missed a football game on TV.

　　這個男孩幾乎從未錯過一場電視上的足球賽。

　　Almost no student wanted to see the play again.

　　幾乎沒有學生想再看一遍這個戲。

　　So at the same time almost no one and almost everyone had PMS.

　　也就是說在同時，要么幾乎沒人經(jīng)前綜合征，要么幾乎人人都有。
